Job From Home
Are you looking for a job from home? Or possibly you’re just beginning to wonder if a job from home might be right for you. I don’t blame you. For years before it became a reality for me, I dreamed of working at home, with all of the freedom that entails. Now that I do work from home, I appreciate and celebrate that fact often. I definitely don’t take for granted the kind of life I lead.
However, it’s not a life that’s made for everyone. Some people aren’t cut out to work at home. Are you?
1) Do You Work Well On Your Own? If you are going to work from home, be it in your own business or with at-home employment, you need to do a very good job of being your own “boss.” This means you can’t get distracted by kids, pets, television, sleeping in or any of the other “weekend” type activities that you may associate with being at home. When there’s work to be done, you’ve got to be focused. If that sounds appealing, then a job from home may be just right for you!
2) Do You Function Well Without a Lot of Social Interaction? One of the enemies of us work-from-homers is loneliness and isolation. Of course, if your “office” is the corner of the kitchen in a busy household, that won’t be an issue! But many of us freelance types are single, so it can be an issue. If you think you can get by just fine without the hustle and bustle of a busy office, again, a job from home may be right up your alley.
3) Are You Computer Savvy or Willing to Learn? Ninety-nine percent of jobs you do at home, whether they be owning your own business, freelancing, or steady at-home employment, require the use of a computer and the internet. A vast majority of positions involve work itself that is on the computer, while other positions merely require communication and timekeeping on your machine. Either way, however, the fact remains. If the computer is not currently your friend, and you’d like to have a job from home – it’s time to MAKE it your friend!
